Viu, a leading pan-regional over-the-top (OTT) video streaming service, is available in 16 markets across Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa.

The platform, built for seasoned investors, made key flows—account opening, sign-up, deposits, and withdrawals—too complex for younger traders. With most clients preferring web trading, mobile adoption remained low, creating a need for a simpler, more engaging mobile experience to boost accessibility and retention.

Project Goal

The objective was to redesign key user flows including account creation, profile management, deposits, and withdrawals to make them simpler, faster, and more intuitive. Additionally, the platform needed to integrate marketing tools and data collection to drive user acquisition and engagement.

Competitive Research

To create a more intuitive and engaging mobile experience, we analyzed leading trading platforms, including Trading 212, TradingView, and IG, focusing on user onboarding, profile management, and transaction flows.

Conducted in-depth research on competitor apps, analyzing UX/UI patterns, user sign-up flows, and key features.

Wireframing & Collaboration

Developed wireframes to map out the user journey, working closely with the functional and marketing teams to define key data collection points and essential features. Ensured that business goals aligned with user needs for an optimized product experience.
